Right now BT Infinity is at 4.95mb/s download 2.37mb/s upload; & this is supposed to be 38mb/s service!
(I've been getting ultra low speeds since Saturday!!)

Upgraded to fibre late last year. Beats the pants off my previous ADSL. Comes in handy for persistent off-site cloud backups of all the files on my laptop and NAS box (and means I get more kills in Battlefield 4 too). ;)

An unusually valid one though!

I have moved from Hebden Bridge to Todmorden since we last did this. My BB is slightly quicker now - about 16 Mb/s download and 0.8 Mb/s upload. That is plain ADSL though - I can't get fibre despite being less than 2 km from the telephone exchange and it being available nearby. Openreach have gone from saying 'Coming soon' to 'No plans yet' with no explanation of what the problem is.

I'm within 100yds of the exchange but not on fibre and never had a really fast connection, although it's fast enough for my needs.

What I don't quite understand is how speed tests always show a much faster speed than what i see when actually downloading something, which is more in the region of 1.2mbps.
