I don't know: it connects to the Wlan but I don't know if that works the same way.
If it connects to it using WiFi rather than an ethernet cable, then it is the same way.

I've also noticed Aldi offers a 5G connection for 18,99€/month but that's only 30 GB.
I'd be a lot happier if I understood what that meant in terms of usage; is 30GB a lot for a normal person? Next to nothing?
I have 5gb on my phone and rarely run out.
Look at Lebara, simple, rolling contract renews each month, cheap at £6.00 per month and works well in UK and bits of Europe.
Will test later today in Germany.

If you want to go fast and stream a lot of data for TV etc, is Starlink worth looking at? £75 per month for unlimited data.
No, I don't need that. I'd also think twice before giving Space Karen any money.
Are you only looking at mobile broadband rather than fixed / fibre broadband?
The only fixed broadband I know is available is o2. This has only 16mb/s and costs more than the Hotspot (see original post for the numbers)
So not very broad - band!
To be honest I'd go for the smaller data allowance as I'd be very surprised if they don't let you upgrade to allow you to give them more money if the data allocation isn't good enough.

No, not really.
Apparently the Vodafone has something called a "shop" in Tübingen, where you can, and I know this is a bit outlandish, speak with a human being and ask questions before actually spending any money. This mysterious facility is also available if I have any problems with my connection.
I will investigate this alleged concept and report back.
The main thing is to check which network masts best cover your village. I'm guessing that there must be a German tool that tells which which mobile network mast owners have coverage at your house, given that there is a UK one.
although it occasionally sulks when using Google Maps, for some reason.
