****ing mice think I'm their new best mate

Now you've got them used to going to the trap, put them out without the peanut butter, and prop a razor blade in front. Mickey will rest his chin on the blade edge, turning his head from side to side saying 'where's my sunpat crunchy?' et voila.

If you don't want @Mo1959 's cat you're welcome to this one. They're big, not house trained and loud. Oh - and the photo shows their catching ability.

Isnt that a rather rare Siskin its killed ? They are not hard to train to only catch rodents.

I can lend you this. Hourly rates in prawns, plus a catch bonus of dreamies. Suitable up to and including half-grown rats.

The tortoiseshell version that I have is a rabbit specialist and only works during the summer. Although she did have a go at a rather large rat the other evening...

I can lend you one of these.
He is quite nippy in the mouse department, unlike his brother who might issue a lazy woof from the comfort of the sofa. He has brought back big rats, a crow and once, a Muntjak (although that was already dead going by the rigor. He was very pleased with himself though). He has a nasty habit of bringing a dead mouse/rat/squirrel and just dropping them on your lap, with a chuffed sort of look on his face.
Downside is he would definitely have next door’s rabbit and probably their cat.

that looks kind of similar to the metak one I posted above.
Can you clarify where you put the bait?
Right in the far back end - the bit that's raised?

Yes - there's a black square that snaps on to the end, with a raised circle on the inner surface to stick the bait on. I tend to use a teaspoonful of peanut butter, which is a bit much and upsets the balance, hence a 20p taped to the top of the other end.

It's possible. Next door has lots of avian visitors. Some become breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks.

As to training the cat, we've failed at any attempt of 'training' in the ten years he's been here, with the cat being as wild as when he came via the RSPCA rescue.

:stop:

Umm, surely you know that you don't train a cat.

The cat trains *YOU*

We have visitors every once in a while and we get our Rentokil Advanced Mousetraps out. Due to the nifty design, there's not much chance of mousy filching the bait. Crunchy peanut butter seems to work well but other people swear by one of the many alternatives. If you shop around you can buy a pair of the traps for about £7.50.

Thought "mousey fecker" had been dealt with, Past and Present. Is it "mousey fecker" future that's troubling you now.
