In Die Hard, it was lucky for Hans that he removed the silencer from his pistol as he interrogates Takagi. The pistol, a Heckler & Koch P7M13, isn't able to have one fitted. Meaning that it must have been fitted internally, in the barrel. This would have made it useless, at best, if left in place, liable to blow up in his hand, at worst if he'd fired it with it fitted.

Not so fast. There was a H&K approved supressor kit by B&T which included an extended threaded barrel. Without the can fitted there is an ugly bit of thread at the front.
