In short the Brighton store and Customer services were fantastic and the MK store was horrific. In future gonna travel up the road another couple of miles to the Daddi of all cycling shops in the south - Phil Corleys.
[/quote]Now listen up! Some of you will know that I did some Dr. Bike sessions on Brighton's seafront this summer. And I looked at a lot of bikes that had come pretty much straight from the shop. And I have to tell you that some bikes that had come from Halfords in Brighton were just downright dangerous. As in brakes not working.

Phil must be about 120 years old now! I remember going to the shop in 1988.

I've just booked my bike in Evans at Manchester city centre for a service. I'm still deciding on which tyres to put on. I was told they would fit them free and they'd give me a decent discount, a) because I'm a CTC member and b) because I'm a Sustrans Voluntary Ranger. As I had problems even getting my LBS to get me some brake blocks, I'm going to give Evans a try. The secret is to go when the shop's quiet.
