Why, in films at least do Americans seem to use 'Poyndexter' as a derogatory term?
What would you recommend as the best made in the USA disinfectant to drink to tackle the virus?

Stackexchange to the rescue again (it appears I must add learning Latin to my list of things to do as we wait for Covid-19 to be outwitted). It's why movies like this get made. Basically, anti-intellectualism played for laughs.

English, please

The best disinfectant is sunlight, which is also chock-a-block with vitamin D. Go out and drink it up!

Denny's is good for breakfasts generally, but why do they insist on burning the bacon to death?

I don’t know, but Baconeers, “dedicated to the scientific art of proving the addition of bacon makes everything in life better,” offers advice on how to salvage it: “Put it in a salad. Yes, we know… salad…”

One can’t leave the subject of the non-eponymous diner (it was started by two men, neither named Denny) without thanking Jack Nicholson, nose candyman to royalty, for making his famous stand against the system, filmed at a Denny's in Oregon:

Jack turned 83 the other day. I have it on good authority they played this at the party:

Have you started mainlining disinfectant yet?
Donald Jehoshaphat Trump is a fascinating subject, covered within the parameters of this thread as best I’m able to: a bit of serious fun so as not to get this filed where politics is hashed out, then moving swiftly along.

This is, however, another opportunity for me to suggest root beer as the cure for all that ails you. My wife certainly thinks it tastes like medicine. Imagine if it really were the answer!

Prices would shoot through the roof, there would be immediate shortages, and I’d likely never taste the stuff again until my birthday was called in a lottery.

Is the fact that the USA & NASA have ruled out a manned return to the moon proof that they are in cahoots with them on this planet?

As a public service, and to make amends for taking some OT bait –

I’m volunteering for enhanced interrogation.

No guarantee that replies will be satisfactory, but they will be neatly typed.
Since you volunteered, have you wished you hadn't?

Have you ever seen a bear in the wild?
No. I did see The Revenant, which was pretty wild.

^^^^ and did you live to tell the tale?
Yes. Only because I didn’t view it on IMAX, which probably would’ve given me a heart attack.

I was bitten by a bunny once – not Chompsky!

Must have passed one the other day. Didn't see it, but the Sat Nav called out Bear Left.
Learning English must be a real bear.

Sorry, that went whoosh. In cahoots with who?

Where do you prefer living?

What could the British learn from Americans? (nice can of worms for you to wrestle with)
