Ignorant Riders?

While out on a ride early this morning i passed 2 Cyclists on Racing bikes, Now i always will say hello as i pass or nod ( as you do) but these 2 were so ignorant, as they both looked at me but obviously decided a courteous gesture was beneath them these 2 were so far up their own arses it was unbelievable..........Are all Racers like that or are these 2 the exception.

People on racers are less likely to say hi and be friendly, I have noticed that. Doesn't bother me, their problem.

I will always say 'HI' to all cyclist, even mountain bike riders!

There does seem to be a bit of a 'roadies only acknowledge other roadies' thing in some people's minds.

i say hi to all cyclists, roadies, mtb, families, shoppers commuters, leisure riders. as Mr Pig said no reply thier problem i am trying to spread a little happiness!!

People who ride road bikes also seem to have less sense of humour.

I find that if I 1: - Look the part and 2:- Am cycling fast (well as fast as I can on my old MTB) I get a returned acknowledgement from roadies, otherwise I am blanked completely. IMHO MTB riders tend to be more friendly and civil.

All I can offer is that research by Loughborough University has shown that cyclists who fail to acknowledge fellow two wheeled athletes, statistically have smaller penises - Hope this helps.

I'm too busy chewing the stem to wave at blokes on bikes
