We stopped off for a bite to eat yesterday en route to BKK, and a sign on a door said Merry Christmas, no doubt left over from last year, or the one before. Many places here have spangly Happy New Year signs up that are never taken down, they brighten the place up in any case.

Have you seen the size of Heros, Roses and Quality Street 'tins' - they have shrunk and now contain just 550g of chocolate.

I just bought a 'plastic'** of Quality Street from Aldi as a top-up birthday present for my sister. It contains 600 g of chocs!


** Doesn't have quite the same ring*** as 'tin', does it!

*** I flicked it to check - actually more of a dull thud!

Last time I looked at early Christmas products on supermarket shelves, some best-before dates were in November.

You may not want to have a look at channel 52 (round here at least) on Freeview then. Don't know when it started, but the guide goes back a week with the same programming. On the EE TV box the channel name has also been changed.
