Well after 3 years, and 21,000 miles of commuting, the weight has started to gently pile back on.
Back up to 14 stone, so back to watching what I eat. Yesterday I only had

alpen, large bowl of
packet of mccoys
2 scotch eggs
galaxy caramel
spag bol for lunch
lamb tikka balti, mushroom rice, nann, chips and onion baji's for dinner

I don't understand why its going back on !

The wife said, your belly is getting bigger !!!

You ate two main meals, each of which were probably fairly calorific (your dinner alone was probably over 1000 calories). Try eating a lighter lunch and only half of the amount of chocolate!

Or ride more or harder.

Yes that's the problem, I over compensate for the danger of the bonk on the way home, so I think lighter lunch no snacks and a banana before setting off each evening
coipe of weeks of that and the weight should start to come back down

it does seem a large amount of food for one person

packet of mccoys
2 scotch eggs
galaxy caramel
why di you have them? they could go

and did you really need the chips and onion bajis as well as the curry, rice and naan?

Bonking on the way home? How long is your commute? IIRC you need to be doing well over 50 miles for a genuine bonk. Stop worrying, eat less, and cycle more!

I eat daily:

Breakfast: Either 3x pancakes with maple syrup or a bowl of porridge (50g oats) made with milk and a table spoon and a half of honey. 1/4 of a honeydew melon and 1 kiwi fruit. 2x cup of coffee.

Lunch: Baguette with tuna or soup.

Dinner: A main meal consisting of a main, plus 2-3 different vegetables.

Snacks: 1 or 2 of the following: A standard chocolate bar, maybe a few Haribo, A latte, A bottle of Banana Yazoo

Before sleeping: Cup of hot chocolate

On a ride: 1/3 a loaf of malt loaf plus a handful of jelly babies, maybe an oat bar, then a glass of milk when I get home.

Add up the above and you will find that it is quite a lot of food, but I manage to lose/maintain weight (10 lbs in the last 6 weeks).

Ofc course when my milage is running low, I cut back a little.

I only had

alpen, large bowl of = high fat content
packet of mccoys = high fat content
2 scotch eggs = high fat content (the coating, not the eggs)
galaxy caramel = high fat content
spag bol for lunch = high fat content
lamb tikka balti, mushroom rice, nann, chips and onion baji's for dinner = high fat content

I don't understand why its going back on !

Let's add up the calories....

Large bowl of Alpen - do you weigh it? That could be anything from 250kCal - 500kCal
McCoys - 250kCal
2 x Scotch eggs - about 600kCal for the two (unless they were mini ones?)
Galaxy caramel -about 250kCal
Spag Bol - anything from 500kCal - 1000kCal
Lamb tikka balti, rice, nann, chips and onion baji's - I'd say that's probably getting on for 2000kCal

So you total calories consumed for the day could be as high as 4600kCal. Unless your commute is a 4 hour round trip then it's no wonder you're putting on weight! And you're eating a lot of sh!te. No fruit or veg at all?

I know its crazy but on several occasions I have run out of energy going home, its only 15 miles each way and a usualy 18 mph,
but you get that feeling, that your legs go, I get al cold all of a sudden and drop to 8 mph and then eat my emergency snickers bar then 10 mins later its back to normal.

but the suggestions on here will help me get back down to 13

yesterday was the first day me and the wife had takeaway, so its an unusal treat, but maybe too much, but normally we eat lots of veg as she grows it on her allotment, but I take on board what your saying, more sensible eating at the right time required.

it was a naught day, but I have stopped eating fish and chips for lunch on a friday, thats the honest truth

But if you're actually trying to lose weight then days like this where you eat probably 2000kCal too much mean it'll take at least 3 or 4 days of sensible eating to even break even. If you want a treat and to have takeaway then eat sensibly through the day instead of eating loads of crap as well as having the takeaway.
