No, you are not a load of boring old *****. The threads often get fascinating. There seems to be other females owning up to their user names. Perhaps I have lurked long enough. I often think my replies would not be witty enough, or when I do think of something, someone gets there first.

Some forum have "girly"/female chat rooms. IMHO that would be not very interesting. (she says diplomatically).

I enjoy some of the "so-called" more masculine activities. The highlight of my last holiday was going on a freighter, a warship and most of all into a submarine. I was very miffed on the same holiday, when just because there was a strong wind blowing and it was a little bit chilly, ok very cold indeed, it was assumed that as a female I did not really want to be on the top deck of a 1910 Motor Ship. May I make my own decisions on that?

Oh dear, I should have known I would get quizzed on that. Not easy to explain, as I would really not like to offend any "girls". Perhaps I should explain that I am not really interested in latest pop music, make-up, celebrities. I celebrate my 50th birthday next month (hopefully by, amongst other things, having a journey on the back of a motorbike). My idea of an adventure would be two months in South America with the captain from the 1910 Motor Ship, never mind that he is Swedish and has a girlfriend. Some girls/females might prefer a Shopping trip in New York.

There is nothing wrong with any of these activities, they just do not appeal to me.

I own up to being a woman and enjoying cycling. I even cycled to the pub last night - which must be about 500 m away. I'm just not very knowledgable about cycling, nor am I the strongest cyclist - top speed 25 mph downhill on the big hills around Bristol (and I hate coming back up them) normal on the flat average is probably about 10 mph.
