Popped into the bank the other day with it on . Couldnt work out why all the staff put their hands up and the alarm went off .... Only joking.

Got some right stares when I popped into the lcoal Royal Mail collecting office wearing my full face balaclava.

Had to reassure them that I wasn't going to rob them and that I was a cyclist with my bike outside

Here's the perfect Buff for you, LD:

And me - I even have sheep on my draft excluders  and a Herdy (for Herdswick) bank - like a piggy bank but why should pigs get all the money?

I found that there was one slight problem with Buffs - when you fold them to four thickness (i.e. folded in half then half again) which gives a nice thickness for keeping head and forehead warm, there's a hole over the crown of your (my) head which, in this extreme weather, gets cold. So I made a little skull cap very similar to what Afghan gentlemen where under their turbans  So the Buff is my minimalist turban  Perfect

Anyone else with glasses having probs with misted up specs while wearing the free " buff " pulled over their nose in this weather ? Methinks its to do with no breathing holes ......... I ended up getting one of these

Thing is I fancy a nice bottle of Chianti and some Fava beans everytime I get home when I wear it ........

You need one of the Polar Buffs, about a third of the length of the material is much thicker (normally fleecy), leaving you to completely cover your head and have all the thickness you need.

I bought a neoprene facemask some years ago when I started playing Airsoft as I didn't fancy losing any teeth, and getting hit on the face-skin hurts! Very sweaty and you can hardly breath through it. Hoping the buff I just ordered serves two purposes!

I find it irritating that so many use the word "buff" when they mean "cheap imitation". I think that Buff aren't doing themselves any favours by allowing the word to become a generic term as some of the offerings that I've seen called a Buff would be better called "shite".

Buff.es can't go after people on forums for trademark infingement. Are any of the imitations actually manufactured or advertised as "buffs"?
Buffs themselves are just an imitation, with their main innovation being all the fancy prints. Buff started in 1992. I've been using these since 1981 or thereabouts. Quite a bit warmer than Buffs too. 4 of them plus a bandana were good down to -40, 25mph wind.
