I agree with Norm, the proper ones are the quality standard. I'm also surprised they don't stamp down on the generic use of the word by other maunfacturers. The name is a registered trademark after all.

Maybe so, but OTOH I would never have heard of Buff (the company) had it not been for the buff (freebie courtesty of C+). Got me thinking, might quite fancy a merino wool version one of these days...

Aye as cyclists we are squeezed a tad but in recent weather peeps will have worshipped the fact they have a buff thinks.

Bought a merino wool version last week and wore it at the weekend. The one I got turned out to be twice the length of my normal one so doubled it up and kept me warm at 0 degrees.

I'm actually surprised that they went for those snood things instead of buffs really. I would have thought that a buff would have been perfect for the job.

I have a "Black Buff Combi" as CRC call it (it was a Polar Buff when I got it) which I got as a leaving present from my last job. In this weather it's brilliant

I've got a merino one. Must be at least 1.5 times the length of the CC one so it can be used as a balaclava type thing and neck warmer at same time. It also doesn't seem to smell if you use it over nose/mouth

And a point of order to the OP. Thread title really should have been ' In praise of.......buffs'

Quite. let's have some respect for ritual!

I love Buffs, and am getting everyone I know a Buff for Christmas. There are Baby Buffs, Junior Buffs, Buffs for People With Especially Thin Heads, and even Dog Buffs . I reckon this is the best site for the range of designs.

Oh hey cheers for that link!

Whenever I've seen buffs in shops they've always been really ghastly designs so I've never bought one - and there are some pretty ghastly designs too! However they are also some really nice designs there ... oooh currently torn between Marroc Graphite and Iaia ... maybe I should buy both? ;)
