My Endura gloves arent keeping the fingers warm though, I am on the look out for a thin pair to go inside them.

Get some disposable latex gloves and put them over the top of your Endura's. 100 of them for less than a fiver will last all year and keep your fingers so toasty. Don't put them under the gloves or your hands will sweat.

Spent all day making snow 'girls' over the last few days in just my fleece gloves with a latex cover and they did a great job.

The corner shops round here have the Magic gloves in again, I find them fairly effective as liner gloves. They're cheap too.

They're not bad on their own when the weather is warmer.

The fundamental problem with this top tip is...you'd be wearing latex gloves! Folks out and about would laugh.

+1 for the C+ buffs though. Didn't think it was much of a freebie at the time, but now wear it all the time.

It's a good buff for the price, keeps my ears warm. Shame about the free magazine that comes with it, I had to throw that away!

Poundland sell a pack of two pairs, black heavy duty ones, they don't look so "rubbery-glove" like, so you could probably get away with them.

One tip for you, try to get another buff if you can. Then you can have one around your neck and face (they're warmer when they are allowed to "bunch" around your collar area) and the other can be turned into a skullcap which covers the head and ears more efficiently. I has got 2!

By Tommy "two sheds" Jackson. If you've been to Tenerife, I've been to Elevenerife.

And if you have to stop in traffic any sweat can get cold and make your hands even colder !

I bought 2 copies of that mag and got another free one this year , i use the buff all the time .I even have 1 cut in half to make 2 sweat bands.

My buff is the most important part of my cycling and running gear. Without it i wouldnt be able to anything and be confined to a life of sofa and computer games!

Ive got cold induced asthma and all the inhalers in the world dont stop it. But once I fire my buff over my mouth and nose, no asthma!

It really is a miracle!

Are proper 'Buff' buffs more breathable than Cycling Plus buffs?

Got mine a few months ago and while it has been great at keeping my head warm, I can't breath through the thing and end up having to pull it down and getting frozen face.

Never really thought about it. Which tell's me they are much the muchness
I also have the CC buff.. (which seem to be slightly longer then the Buff Buff's & the C+ Buff so that one is always worn pirate stylee..
Will have to do a test of the 3..

Yes, proper Buffs are significantly better quality and softer than any of the alternatives I have tried, and, as I wrote on the "cold head" thread recently, it's difficult to justify not spending the little bit of extra money to get a proper one.

I find it irritating that so many use the word "buff" when they mean "cheap imitation". I think that Buff aren't doing themselves any favours by allowing the word to become a generic term as some of the offerings that I've seen called a Buff would be better called "shite".

Colder than making snowmen and snowballing for about 3 hours? My fingers were still fine in that time, although that was mostly down to the wind and water proofing .

I agree they look shocking (quite like the idea of black ones), but they have made my normal inadequate gloves very warm indeed for the last week or so as a cheap emergency measure. Looking at the weather reports I'll be fine without next week.

I breathe through mine with no significant problems... I'm not a racer though, I only travel at a medium pace. I imagine if you raced you may not quite get enough air.

I agree with Norm, the proper ones are the quality standard. I'm also surprised they don't stamp down on the generic use of the word by other maunfacturers. The name is a registered trademark after all.
