Buying new and giving 20% away in tax is a sacrifice in order to be certain of getting exactly what you want and when you want it.

Surely paying tax goes towards those less fortunate and cannot afford a new bike, so it could be considered a charitable donation.

Quite agree. I would happily pay the 20% and give a further 20% to a charity such as smackheads anonymous.

Now that is generous, only problem is the anonymous bit, how do you find who to give the money too.

Rather different from your other bikes posted on here, are you having a mid life crisis?

It is a massive departure. Most of my bikes values added together, wouldn't equal half the cost of this one, but on the grand scheme of things, I consider it to be a worthy investment. I'm just a little bit wary of the massively aggressive geometery. The stem isn't as slammed as the example in the picture ( they do that to make it 'look good' in the press releases) but it could be an 'interesting' proposition on a 170 mile ride.

If you've got the spare cash, then what the hell, buy the bike and enjoy riding it. Once in a while its good to buy something you want, not what you need.

The shop wasn't particularly large, but it was selling bikes made by Giant. I've actually decided I quite like this.
