Rich is spoiling everything. For one moment it looked as though you had a 4x4 and Linf had a bicycle.

I (well the wife) has a Disco 4 as well. God alone knows what was done to yours to cost £53k - mine was only £39k and I had a fair sprinkling of options thrown at it.

Focus is very uncomfortable - I can't shut the drivers door on one without scrunching my shoulders together. Bizarrely, my Peugeot 107 had more space on the drivers seat.

"Only £39k" he says...!

I've been thinking about a Discovery for next year, luckily they're a bit more affordable in the States compared to UK prices 48000USD here compared to 38000UKP (for base model). About 8000UKP cheaper.

I bought Woman the SE. £39k retail, discounted down to £33 with some haggling, and the money saved spent on the heated leather, techno pack (cruise and colputer shizzle) Harmon Hifi, crossbars, and an extra set of rims with winter boots. They've rejigged the models and specs not long after I bought ours and I think its now the GS or GSE or something.

No lag on ours (there is a known fault with flats spots which i think is a software job to fix) and the auto box is pretty good, but its not a fast car by any stretch of the imagination. That's fine by me though - I'm so slow and chilled behind the wheel even my Mum moans and tells me to get a move on!

I sold my car and went without so I could afford this for Woman. Unfortunately, her remaining eyesight is starting to fail and if it doesn't recover I'll end up doing all the driving again.

If it is yours to drive and it has got road tyres on it, it will be much better than a 2wd car, but you will have to keep the speed well down and give yourself plenty of room for braking. It is still a 2.5 tonne car even if it has 4wd and the mass needs to be respected.
