The frustrating thing is that if it gets any kind of traction in the mainstream, the story will actually become focused on social-media self-censorship and how this lass was silly for posting it, making the mistake of thinking her public tweets were for the consumption of her friends only, so has been naive, people need to understand that social media publications are actionable and blah blah blah; especially if the tabloids get onto it.

The underlying story of road safety and the attitude of some drivers will get lost and/or ignored as a) the cyclist (thankfully, and somewhat fortuitousness for Ms Way) survived and seems to be adopting a rather casual live and let live attitude (publicly at least for now) and b) the mainstream don't care to read about cycling and road safety, and would much prefer to read "Twitter Boast Gets Young Girl Nicked/Loses Her Job" or some such guff as it is sadly more "relevant" and interesting to the limbic driven public appetite that allowed Big Brother to be a success for 10 years.

You can see it coming a mile off.

I would recommend going to the updated Road.cc page on this incident, they appear to have a scoop having spoken with the cyclist involved, based on his account I think

1. The guy is about to achieve legend status
2. If his constitution is anything like mine, he is going to need a new pair of shorts

As for the driver, I can see this incident going down the restorative justice route, if it was me I wouldn't accept it but I get the feeling this cyclist is a better man than I am.

Just had a look at her employer's (Larking Gowen) facebook page. It already has a couple of comments about their employee, although I can't imagine them leaving them on there for very long.

Searching for 'Larking Gowan' in facebook returned no results - looks like her employers have taken their whole page down! Even if the police do nothing, that daft cow is in deep s**t.

Probably miss spelt it. It's Larking Gowen.

A few people have put some sarky comments on the firms FB page. How very embarrassing for the firm and for her. I wonder if she will be offered a career change?

Many lessons to be learned for everyone in many ways. Don't drive like a twunt, and don't leave the scene of an accident, don't bost about it on the Internet. It's not "Social Media" it's " Witch Hunt Media"

Ms Way deserves what she gets, but what ever she gets is nothing compared to the feeling of gut churning angst that she is going to have every morning when she wakes up for the next few weeks.

You're not wrong!
"I was sticking to the left as the corner was blind. A car came round in the opposite direction going much too quickly to make the corner safely. It missed the rider in front of me but hit me, my right leg caught the front right wing. I was thrown up onto the bonnet, I hit the side of windsrceen and the wing mirror. I bounced back off the car and went through a hedge for about 20 metres. I managed to keep control of the bike; the back brake had locked on but I managed to rejoin the road and stop in the middle of it"
That sounds absolutely astonishing

Young Women driving cars - much worse than young lads. Total pertol heads some (my niece is as bad).

Sorry if that's controversial, but it's based upon my experiences. I find young women very aggressive in cars.

These are very odd things to say, absolutely irrelevant and judging by the picture above unless I'm missing something not true, she may be a particularly silly or even unpleasant girl, but to say she's ugly...well I'm confused
I think she's a nice looking girl although I'm not sure she's a nice girl. But saying that, I also think pitbulls are nice looking dogs.

I hope they make her crush the car herself along with daddy who probably bought it watching
I bought my sons first car and his grandmother bought him his second, both were second hand and a little knocked about but would have been more than he could afford. It's very difficult to know but your tone suggests you think there is something wrong with a family member helping when it come to the purchase of a car, is there?
