I haven't worn jeans for about 25 years, but when I last did, I found them a bit uncomfortable even for serious walking, so I would not fancy doing much cycling in them. I overheat easily, and also wouldn't like being caught in the rain wearing jeans. As for the seams ...

Lycra mix. It's all about the Lycra mix. I hated jeans till I found the Wrangler Texas Stretch jeans.

Have to be black though. Blue just ain't punk.

Hmm .. now that I am getting slimmer again, I might put a pair of them on my Christmas present list!

The other problem I used to have was my big thigh and calf muscles. I need plenty of room so a skinny fit won't suit me. How much leg room is there?

I used to wear jeans or tracksuit bottoms for cycling to work, got some cycling tights last year and never looked back. So much warmer and comfortable and no messing about with bicycle clips  Just spent more money on another pair, but I'm saving money on bus fares so it all adds up in the long run I suppose.

I don't bother much with cycle specific clothes (trainers, baggies + M&S thermal tops atm)...but draw the line with jeans! Mainly as I like to wear jeans for a few months between washes and riding in em = stinky jeans in no time. That and they're rubbish when wet. Probably I'll ride across London in them if that's what I'm wearing, but otherwise no!

I actually don't have any jeans.
And being now 61, want a little less hindrance from clothes than jeans and everyday clothes
Don't pay a lot though Aldi/Lidl are used

Clearly, long, beautiful, hilly rides in the middle of summer are a waste of time! Either that, or being sodden with sweat, fainting from the heat and being rubbed raw by your clothing are more fun than I remember them being ...
Absolutely - autumn weather is a trial and having arm/leg warmers gilet etc is a big help

I cycle in normal clothes (shorts for much of the year though) or general purpose sports clothing. The only cycle specific gear I have is gloves and some sports glasses. I also have a helmet I wear sometimes.

Although I do use jeans sometimes I do find they are hard and rub if I go any distance in them.

You will get some peer pressure to wear lycra in some clubs.

I don't frequent that type of club!

Rubbing, going the distance, clubs where you are peer pressured into lYcra...... That post is soooo open to misinterpretation!

No lycra for me either. Being too old to become a MAMIL I headed down to Primark and got myself some stretch jeans just for cycling in - and being "skinnies" I don't need cycle clips.
