If you like the bike as it is but want to do a bit more rough stuff then I would just stick some off road tyres on it, sounds a lot of hassle to be changing the bars/shifters etc.

That's sorted it for me, I had an idea it wouldn't be straight forward but just couldn't think of what would get in the way, cheers for that mate i'll stick to flat bars and just change the tyres as I think the bike would look a bit poo having canti's but with v brakes bosses poking out, and the other suggestions I hav'nt a clue aboutWith a 105 drivetrain, the only mechanical compatibility issue for your bike is with the brakes. Drop bar brifters don't pull enough cable for V brakes.
9 speed 105? I was not aware of such a thing, not sure when it became 10 speed. You need 9 speed shifters then I believe
