How feasible is it to convert my Corratec shape pro hybrid into a cyclocross bike? I know you can put drop bars on any bike no matter how wrong it looks but what is the difference between the 2 bikes, excluding the said handle bars?

same brakes as what was on my spesh tri cross (which was too small) which is what got me thinking about this in the first place, I know on cx bikes the bottom bracket is higher from the ground for clearance and it looks like I have a similar clearance with my hybrid. As for gears, not sure how mine compare.

You have the brifters? What groupset was on the tricross?

I'd get advice from your LBS or are you going to do the build yourself?

I cant remember what was on the tri and yep i'm planning on doing the work myself, I don't want to sell the bike as I brought it from some money left to me by my late Nan.

I wouldn't bet on it - the trekking bike the OP has is designed to produce a fairly upright position, same as a CX.

As I understand it, you need 10 speed brifters (so 105 or post 2012 Tiagra, not Sora or 2300), although perhaps there is some adaptation possible

I've currently got 9 speed double 105 , I wasn't planning on changing the gears only the shifters and swapping the bars, fitting in-line secondry brake levers like on the tri cross and some tyres but wasn't sure how effective the bike would be, i'm not planning on competitive riding just off road leisure, failing everything else I could just change they tyres and leave it as it is.

9 speed 105? I was not aware of such a thing, not sure when it became 10 speed. You need 9 speed shifters then I believe
