Thanks guys for all the replies

Just thinking about sizing again. Is 2 inches really that much of a difference? Could one not just put up the seat 2 inches :/ ?

If the medium truly is too small :P, that felt looks quite nice. I was looking at that before but could never get it at a good price.

At 5'10" the seat post of my medium GT Avalanche is right up to the min insertion line (approx 8 inches) which is the perfect height for me.

I guess you could get a longer seat post and maybe a different stem to make a medium comfortable for you but that's more expense.

I haven't assembled the large Traffic yet so not sure how that feels in comparison yet.

Medium will be too small. I have that bike (2010 model) in a large and it is just perfect for me at 6' 1"

The bike is great to ride and probably my favourite bike for clocking up the miles on. I also have a GT MTB and a GT series 3 roadbike. The best upgrade you can probably make to the bike is to ditch the silly 11-32 cassette and fit something more sensible like a 12-26 (I did this) which gives perfect road going ratios and still has the hill climbing emergency granny ring at the front if needed.

My bike has just had new wheels under warranty because after 11 months and 2000 miles the rims started to crack around the spoke nipples. Apart from that the bike has been perfect, the gears are still click and go despite not touching the cables. The disc brakes are good but were exceptionally noisy in the wet for the first 100 miles and are still pretty noisy when damp but this seems to be common with disc brakes.

Do you need the front suspension? Unless you are planning on going seriously off road I've have a suspicion it'll be effort sapping weight.

No, I don't really, but I cant find a bike at that similar price with just as good components. Like Deore rear deraileur, hydraulic disc brakes etc Feel free to tell me about any you find though :P

How about Giant Seek 1? No mudguard/rack eyelets looking at the picture though if that's important!
