This thread has depressed me a little. I was a bit of a grungy/hippie type at school - mid 90s - (long skirts, dark jeans, purple or red DM boots, long scraggly hair with coloured bits, one of those army surplus bags with patches on, band t-shirts, 'ethnic' jewellry and loads of those woven bracelet things).

Now my style could best be described as 'boring' - far too much stuff from Next and other identikit stores where everything looks the same.....though perhaps with a bit of a grungy edge (today I'm wearing an oversize jumper for example)

Think I need to go shopping..........

i used to do athletics training as a youngster wearing baggy paisley shirts!

now i just make smart clothes look scruffy.

Dunno, Generation X-er past his sell-by-date. Only difference I think since then is tend to wear the checked shirts and knackered jeans the right size instead of 2 sizes too big.

When I was younger I was very much a Mod. I remember once when I was about 15 my Mum gave me money to go and buy something to wear to a family wedding. She expected me to go and buy a suit.

I came back with a pair of dog-toothed trousers, boating blazer and a pair of black and white Jam shoes. Got a clip round the ear and the sharp end of her tongue. She wasn't happy. She was telling me to take it back and then my Dad came in and said he thought it was alright and to let me dress how I wanted. I wasn't harming anyone ;)

Even now most of my 'good' gear has a distinct Mod feel to it. Can't help it. It's like a magnet when I go clothes shopping. It's in-built.

Can't beat it.

I'm the face baby....

Some folk suit stylish stuff, others don't... I remember once my bro' bought a raincoat (identical to one he'd seen Weller wearing in a pic). He looked the business in it! I borrowed it once, and I just looked like Frank Spencer! ;)
