All the DNF's are invalid (before or after the stage) as they were only intended to mean climbing off due to fatigue. Crash injuries don't count.

So there.
oh, puhlease. He crashed because Sky got it wrong. 38km from home, riding in a bunch that went right across the road at 50kph, and being told repeatedly to get toward the front. Cavendish and Millar must (for slightly different reasons) be quietly satisfied with their employers.

Sadly my vote for 'also ran' was wrong. But I still think he would have finished down the GC list.

They were near the front, as it happens. 190 riders all had the same idea and there isn't room at the head of the peloton for everybody.

As for crashes, they just happen, that's racing. We'll never know where Wiggo would have finished and it's academic now, but given his current form and his '09 showing I'd reckon an easy top ten.

That's just wrong. Almost every team has had serious problems resulting from crashes this year and Sky had actually been (unexpectedly) tactically one of the standouts up to this point. If Sky got it wrong, almost every team has got it wrong - what about Saxo Bank, Radio Shack etc.?
