I seem to get itchy feet after about 5 years or so and fancy a change, and it`s happening again now.

I love my 1970`s house, I have good neighbours, and it`s in a nice place. I`m just fancying something with a bit of character. I`m happy to stay in the area I`m in, I just crave something a bit older, maybe move out by a mile or two to one of local villages, but on the whole location I am very happy with.

Every 5 years to me does seem a bit frequent though! Or am I wrong? Most people I know have been in their current houses since the year dot!

Interested to hear some input:smile:

Same house since 1988 - we'll only move when we can't manage the stairs!

Ten times (it was every year at one point due to money grubbing landlords) but I've been here for three years and have cycle tracks all five ish miles into town so don't intend to leave soon.

We moved around a lot when I was younger in NZ. Then we moved four times in 18 months when we came back to the UK. One of my old jobs meant that I moved quite frequently as well.
Blimey!

I moved out of my parents` house at 24, they moved in there when I was 11 months old and they are still there 39 years later, and I`ve had 3 properties of my own, a flat, a terraced house (which I hated), and then the semi that I have now. I`m slowly working up the ladder, detached would be nice now, but a big price jump

Walking five minutes barely gets me to the next tarmac street. It's sparse out here on the edge of the fens
Bliss!

I bought my first house at 19 and stayed there for 12 years before buying our current house, (wish I'd stayed put TBH), and unless I win the lottery I won't be moving from here for the rest of my life I don't think, although I'd dearly love to

I also moved with my parents when I was 15, so all in all I've only moved 3 times in my life, and unless I could afford to pay someone to make the whole process hassle free, and pay removal men to box and shift everything, I wouldn't relish the prospect of ever moving again even though I'd leave this house in a heartbeat.

Moved up here aged 18, bought a wee flat aged 20.
Moved into Mr M's flat then both sold up and moved into current house almost 23 years ago.
No wish to move as good area with nice neighbours, good range of shops and facilities and good cycling country :bicycle:
Plus it's a bungalow with south facing easily maintained wee garden so suits oldies ;), no need to move .

Since adulthood, not a lot. I have only ever owned 2 places and been in the current one since 1989.
Prior to that, quite a frequent mover as my father's job involved working abroad for periods. Started off in Rothesay, moved to Jamaica, briefly in Edinburgh, Seychelles, Edinburgh again, back to Rothesay, then Gourock, Greenock, Port Glasgow, before current place in Ayrshire. That's over a period of 53 years.
