Just walked my dog over my local park. As i've been doing this for 11 years with my dog, i know all the dog walkers over there. So its inevitable that many will stop and talk to me, some keeping more of a distance than others. Its awkward because i dont like to be rude and say can you stand back, so i'm constantly stepping back from some of them to keep my distance.
One woman i know over there, walked past a group of youths all sat together on a bench, they couldn't have got closer to each other if they'd tried. One of the lads said to her, "i've got the coronavirus" and started coughing and sneezing exaggeratingly. All his mates thought this was highly amusing, but obviously not the woman i know.
Some young people really are acting like complete fecking morons.

Phoned an elderly relative. Nodded to neighbour opposite. Phoned the old lady at the cattery to make sure she was okay and has someone looking out for her. Actual contact: zero. Tomorrow I shall go for a bike ride nearly "with" (but not too close to) a good friend who lives alone and is getting bored. I suggested we bring megaphones.

I haven't been through all five pages so this may have been posted already.

There is an app called "Houseparty' which is great for virtual socializing. Up to eight people can simultaneously be in an online video chat with a live video feed of each person showing on screen all the time.

Played with this today with the kids.

Minimal social interaction? Welcome to my normal.

Anyway, today walked the dog, saw some neighbours walking their dog - said hello, but kept 2+ metres apart.

Walked to the local Co-op to get a couple of things and saw the same neighbours returning from their walk and they immediately closed the distance so I stepped back and made a joke about it being nothing personal.

In the Co-op it was a rough 50/50 split of people like me trying to maintain a gap and others who apparently just didn't care. I made every effort to move apart and used a self service till.

I was meant to be going to my mums for lunch today, but as she's in her late 60's and not in the best of health we decided it would be best to postpone it for the time being. we've spoken on the phone and will meet up again when it's judged safe to. I've also cancelled other social events on the back of the current situation but it is the right thing to do, no matter how difficult I'm finding it.

Just got back from the dogs afternoon walk and while many people seem to be staying in / keeping to their gardens I am quite dispirited to see that an awful lot of people don't seem to thing any of whats been on the news applies to them. Family groups clearly on their way to celebrate Mothers Day (carrying cards, flowers, balloons, etc), a group of a dozen or so lads playing football on the field, youths in a group by the shops, etc, etc, etc.

If I'm honest I reckon that Boris will have no option but to announce a lock down in the next few days as there are far too many people who A) don't care and B) think any restrictions only applies to other people and that's unfortunately the way a lot of "society" is now. Just wait until tomorrow when a lot of those kids who are now off school will be congregating with their mates out and about rather than staying home like they're meant to.

EDIT: the local facebook page is reporting queues to get into the car parks at a local park...

An easy way to get round that one is to make a light hearted comment about it as you/they slow down to speak. “Two metres separation? that’s at least 3 paving slabs isn’t it?” or something like that.

Most shops and pubs around here closed. Restaurants moving to take-away only, and some that didn’t previously do takeaway have started.

Apparently a few pubs have ignored advice and stayed open. One told their regulars “If we have to close, the beer will go off. So it’s a pound a pint.” Busiest it’s ever been - some people just completely missing the point.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Roughly 12 people today. I went to garden centre first thing this morning to buy some compost. I have some root vegetable seeds on order and needed some compost. We did stay well apart from each other though.

I'm considering maybe not walking my dog again over my local park. Could take him in the car to places where its usually devoid of people, but i expect others will do that, so there will be other people there as well.
I might not bother walking him at all. I have quite a big back garden, and it wouldn't kill him to just have that area outside.

It's pretty much what we do, just avoid people by walking in less accessible areas. This mornings walk was only accessible by crossing a river in the forest, never seen anyone on that "path" in years, think it was me that made the path to be honest. Yesterday i took the dogs in their trailer on my wife's bike to another place with paths that are 18% and for the first time ever i managed to ride the climb with the trailer on:okay: it's a bit slippy and i always run out of grip/skill/power at the top.... yesterday i made it though (empty trailer of course) dogs just looked at me like i was a weirdo when i sent out a whoop whoop at the top:laugh:

Dog biking is the way forwards:okay:

Walked the dogs this morning, waved to fellow dog walkers on the other side of the road.
Took my bike out with bike bud keeping a goodly space apart. quarter of a mile at one point when he stopped to take a pic and I hadn't realised that he wasn't behind me.
Bike Bud's son is visiting this afternoon. 24 year old, back from holiday and he lives up country a ways, who is in town for Mother's day and is popping by 'Dad' after having lunch with Mum. I shall be keeping distance from Bike Bud for a while now.

Work tomorrow, for 5 whole hours but people are working from home, I will see if I can have a day working from home this week. People in the office are scattered apart from each other. Large office, a few people and tons of space.

Just spent the weekend obsessively tidying and cleaning and polishing everything in readiness for the estate agent to come and photograph tomorrow. Mrs Gti is frantic with worry about Corona so I have been tiptoeing around just quietly doing what I'm told as the atmosphere in the Global household is like glass. It's one of those situations where whatever you say is the wrong thing so you're better off keeping it shut.

Wonderful walk with Mrs Tuesday and boys in the Peak District.

Carefully planned route on little frequented paths avoiding all human habitation.

Saw maybe a dozen people all day long, everyone kept their distance.
