Whisky. Once you get past the initial harsh taste of it, it's far too easy to drink too much of it.

I gave it up when I realised I was getting through 2 bottles a week

Have the Jamesons with a cake of at least 70% coco plain chocolate. Match made in heaven!!

Forget cheese and wine. This combination is the business. The Master Blender at a distillery taught me this one!

That reminds me, I have an un-opened bottle of Jameson's at home with my name on it along with a bottle of Purser's navy rum.

I'm in on the whisky love fest (only sigle malt though). Started drinking it with a single ice cube to take off the harsh edge, but as my appreciation grew i removed the ice and can can now enjoy the layers of complexity that the different areas produce.

personal fav is Edradour - Scotlands smallest legal distillery, and if you are in the region they do a free tour that is well worth it.

Never put ice in it. It stuns it and closes it up. A splash of water yes but ice is a no no.

I like whisky and whiskey, and practically every other alcholic drink suitable for adults as opposed to teenagers. This has cost a lot of money and years of "training", but I am sad enough to think it was worth it. I was brought up in Glasgow though which may account for my "cultural" tendencies.

I'm a big single malt fan - we have quite a collection at home.
A 'collection' of alcohol... wish I knew how that was possible... if it's wet, I'll probably drink it (hic, burp). I like whisky and whiskey, esp Jamesons :boxing:
But I also like Spanish Brandy. I draw the line at meths.

I love it started off with the Speyside Malts but have now developed a taste for Peat and love the Ardbeg or Ledaig not a big fan of Laphroaig.

So many good whiskies and so many ways to drink them. I like most malts with a little splash of water, good blends too - good old JW Black Label and for a heavy session a nippy-sweetie (Red Label and Curries lemonade) or for a wee change a whisky mac (whisky and Crabbie's Green Ginger Wine)

All of this can be washed down with a pint of Caledonian 80/- or a Deuchars
