I've got a newish pair of these shimano winter boots...

I was lazy with the waterproof pants and they filled up with water...just happen to be the day I forgot my footwear I use for work. So I had to wear them wet for 14 hours by the time I'd gotten home.

The problem is they now stink when I use them, I mean offensively smell. I'd like to keep them on at uni for a 4 hour lecture to cut down on what I carry...which is a ridiculous amount.

Question is....how can I get them to stop stinking so bad?

sprinkle baking soda into them and leave them for a couple of days

Freezing them works well as it kills the bacteria, obviously make sure they're clean before you put them in there though

Just make sure to use a low temperature wash cycle - too hot and the glue will come undone!

Always take out the insole to dry them. If you've got athlete's foot all your shoes will smell worse; treat that with anti-fungal cream and a spray for all your shoes.

That is a myth... if heat made the glue in shoes come undone how come the shoes in warm regions such as hot deserts and the African continents are not regularly falling apart?
Australia had the highest recorded temperatures on record during 2013 peaking at a whopping 121.3 degrees F (49.6 degrees C) in Moomba in South Australia, even Sydney hit 114.4 degrees F and there were no reports of the glue of shoes coming undone.
