How does my position look?

Yeah, its a 20" frame, I'm just over 6' so I should really have got a 22" I guess, but didn't know that at the time, me being a cycling n00b and all. Maybe an stem with more rise could help me out?

No, a 20" should be fine, it must just be the camera angle. I'm 6'4" and ride a 21".

If you don't have any comfort issues then that's all good, but yes a steeper stem and/or riser bars would bring the handle bar position up. Out on the road do you find yourself resting on the bar ends more often than the bars themselves? If so you may want to consider bringing the handlebars up a bit.

Jeez. Looks like a mental axle stand for your bars

Ah, could be the angle. My mum took the pictures

I'm 6'2", I've got long arms too (struggle for shirts lol) so I think I should be fine. I've been and done 8 miles in total on the new configuration and didn't have any back pain, so we'll see how it goes.

Rode down to LBS and cancelled that stem. It was on it's way  so I bought some fingerless gloves to make up for messing them about haha

*edit* You're right by the way, on the road I get up to speed on the bars, then cruise along on the bar ends. I've got a bar with something like 60mm rise in my shed, I had been thinking about trying it out, but it is quite a bit narrower than my current bar and I like the width.

For some reason when I bought my Carbon Pave, Spesh advised that.

I think I've seen seat-clamps on 'backwards' (i.e. bolt ahead of seat post) before with the reason that water and dirt thrown up by the back wheel won't clog up and corrode the seat-pin and bolt over a period of time. Also perhaps less likely to slowly seep into the seat tube via the little cut out in the frame you sometimes see and cause corrosion later.

Most quality mountain bikes have had a forward facing seat clamp for twenty years. It reduces the likelyhood of water getting down the seat tube and killing the BB bearings.

The bike is a bit too small for you.

As for the seatpost clamp, the opening should line up with the gap in the frame - these are sometimes in front and sometimes behind.

I don't think there is any particular problem with the frame, a six footer should fit a 19"/20" frame no problems, a proper "22 MTB frame would be like perching on top of piper alpha for all but the very tall and your stand over height would be lost leading to possible crushing of the love spuds.

It might not look that stretched out but you have to remember it's a mid range XC bike for single track and trails, not a pure XC race bike or cross bike.
