I've been having a play with the saddle height and position, and was hoping you could give me my opinions please. I've set the height based on (inside leg x 0.883) and set the position using a plumbline.

Here are some pictures, could you please let me know you opinions?

It looks like I won't need that shorter stem I've ordered after all...

You can see how much I've raisedthe saddle btw, the mudguard bracket was right up against the seat tube. Feels like I'm sat on a skyscraper now lol:

Looks pretty much bang on saddle wise, a longer stem will let you get a flatter back meaning your a bit more aerodynamic. Isn't that seat clamp on backwards?

Well spotted

The longer stem will also mech technical riding a little harder. Swings and roundabouts

Yeah, there's never going to be an 'everyman' bike I guess... Guess I'll have to give the bike shop a ring. Might have to buy something else to make up for messing them about...

The one on now is a 110mm, I ordered a 90mm

The reason I ordered it was I was getting some lower back pain (to the point it ****ed me up enough to have two weeks off the bike...) and I felt like I was getting too stretched out on the bike. But now I've set the saddle to where it should be, I feel like I've come together a bit better with the bike thought I've only given it a two mile test-ride.

*edit* Also, the saddle it a bit nose down in that picture, I reset that after I took it.

Looks like you've set your saddle at a good height for your legs, but (and it could be the angle the photos were taken at) that frame looks small for you. Handle bars seem way below saddle height, which is fine if that's the position you like, but do you ever suffer from numb hands or a bad back on that bike?

Yeah, its a 20" frame, I'm just over 6' so I should really have got a 22" I guess, but didn't know that at the time, me being a cycling n00b and all. Maybe an stem with more rise could help me out?

20" should be fine. I'm 6' and I ride and 18" frame. Much more of a rise on that stem and it will he horizontal
