Inspired by Arbitrary's mention of the well known stroppy little git on the shoelaces thread, I remembered that someone once picked me up for pronouncing Jamiroqaui as Jammy Rockwhy, inisisting that the stress be on the fourth letter.

How would you pronounce it? A mate of mine suggested that most of the letters are silent and it is in fact pronounced tw*t.

I pronounce it "Lightweight Pretend Funkster". Paradoxically, I have no particular problem with him, but I can't stand his godawful music.

I have to say though, always loved the Virtual Insanity video.. made me chuckle at his madness and dancing stylee.

And someone has taken it a stage further :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

He does across as being a bit of a c*ck though, bless him and all his fast cars.

Confusingly the poster is in fact ABITRARY. What IS an Abitrary?

Is it my imagination, or have shoelaces become much stronger in recent years?

I'm sure that up till the age of about 23 I was breaking about a set a week, but these days an average set outlives a pair of shoes and can easily go on to do a couple of conker seasons.

Why can't breadboxes be as resilient? I've never had a breadbox whose door didn't jam within 1 second of use.

Maybe a cultural exchange between the shoelace and breadbox industry is in order.

(.. BTW it's shoes that have become weaker and no longer last as long as the shoelaces)
