it looks to me as though your asking people to give you advice to do something which you DONT ACTUALLY WANT TO DO,

It's the little tips that other do just to ensure they do go out and ride. I love riding so no problems there just the get up and get out of the house to cycle not swimming or walking for instance

I'm not sure if I'm getting my message across here or its some people don't see where I'm coming from so ill give you a scenario. It's a sat morning nice day, I've alread been cycling all week for my commute. I will go for a walk or going swimming or feed the ducks rather than cycling. I put this down to low motivation maybe it isn't? so I wanted some tips to make me cycle more. Things such as ensure gear is ready and bike in easy reach are great tips. Also a great tip to have a buddy to cycle with on weekends.

If I'm going to do a long or difficult ride, I just make sure I talk to everyone who will listen to me, telling them all about it. Can't dip out then without looking a mug. Told everyone last year I was going to climb an Alp in September, despite still weighing over 20 stone. This forced me into putting in all the necessary roadwork in the Cotswolds, Forest of Dean, Wales, and repeated climbs of my local Frocester Hill and Horsepools Hill.
The result?
200 The Col (Cat 1, 100th TDF, stage 19).jpg

By the time I got there, I never had a doubt I was going to do it. There was one point where I started to flag, but then I came around a hairpin and saw all the motivational writing from the TDF, still there on the road. "FDJ", "Froome", "Contador", "Team Sky", "Voeckler" etc etc scrawled all over the road. If that doesn't give you a second wind, nothing will. It was like being on the pitch at Wembley of the Centre Court at Wimbledon for me....... and all possible only because I had been talking the talk, and now I had to walk the walk .
This year I'm telling everyone that I'm doing Bealach Na Ba (Britain's longest climb) in September. Guess I'll just have to now.

If you prefer those two over cycling, why do the cycling?
