Just get the bike out and go ride, it is always better once you are actually on the bike.

Tricks:- go to work on the bike, that way you have no choice.

To be honest if it was not for the commute I would not go out much. In fact if i never commuted by bike I would probably not meet socially the other cyclists I ride with at weekends etc. As mentioned above if you can use the commute to cycle, takes a bit of will power but once you get used to it, you will never want to use public transport or even drive!

Sunny day, nice pub about 15 miles away on a loop then 2-4 miles home (choice of about 6 routes) or just to get out of the house for a bit after all I'm a cyclist, through choice :bicycle:

I consider myself a cyclist, but I've recently moved to Lincolnshire where I got into road cycling as there wasn't any mountain biking tbh.

Have your bike and cycling kit laid out and ready to go. It's so much easier to just get on the bike and ride off than it is to fish out all your stuff, put all the tools back in the bag, check the tyres, etc.
That's a very good point tbh, I am currently getting all my gear out of my cupboards then trying to find Ipod then getting the bike out of the shed and out the back gate, around three locks to do this. I think I had the drive and motivation to ride and I enjoy riding. Its the process of getting everything together.

I don't have to think about it as I don't have the car for the commute, mr summerdays does, therefore there isn't any choice other than catching the bus! Mr summerdays was a little surprised the other day when I said "I can't be bothered to catch the bus" (I was supposed to be that day), it just seemed more effort to have to walk to the bus stop and wait an unknown time (at rush hour), than get on my bike for a 50 min cycle home.

You have some of the best roads in the country for riding on and you cannot be bothered, good job you do not live in a major city. I often do not enjoy the ride I do however enjoy the feeling afterwards, what motivates me? well, not wanting to become a fat lazy slob for one thing.

Can you see I have no time for lame excuses. For your information there are hundreds of miles of off road routes in Lincolnshire.

Difficult one. If I'm commuting I don't ride after work i take a longer route. Its 40mile a day commute though shortest route through 14% valleys and a coupe of 6s.
