I've been thinking... I've got lots of techno and acid house records from the 90s that I haven't played for ages.

My MIL came to stay for a week the day my wife and I brought our new daughter home from hospital. I was not very pleased about it at all and could barely disguise my displeasure. It should have been the best week of my life after all and quite an intimate time.
That said, I love it when people stay now as they generally get offloaded with the kid while the missus and me bugger off out!
My Brother in law also stays round quite a bit as he is always living in different countries and comes to the UK to visit when he feels like it, but he enjoys a beer or five so that is usually a good laugh too.

If they like watching TV you could always hide the remote. Or do what I did with Mr Surf one Sunday. BBC Parliament were showing a repeat of the 1983 General Election. I am ashamed to say to wind him up I put this on, then hid the remote, knowing full well his Socialist roots.
My parents are visiting at the moment. Luckily they are stating at a local b and b. But this does mean they are round every morning at 9am for coffee and a watch of my tv. Today we have the golf on.

The last time my friends came to visit, the same ones who are moving in in Feb, they hogged my sofas, asked for the password to my broadband and that was that, non stop on the internet with only the occasional request for tea and cake.
As I live in a bed sit in my house, and they wouldn't leave to go to their guest room until well after midnight, I had to wait until the early hours before I could have a wash and go to bed. I then had to be up early so they could have breakfast.

I think if I had her staying, I'd play a sort of 'fault bingo' List all the thigs she could possibly grouse about and tick them off audibly and gleefully as she does so....

I'm waiting for my youngest to start walking so I can get the photo I never managed with her big Sister.... Standing starkers with her back to the camera, looking skyward and holding a flash card at her side which has the word 'Moon' on it.
