I too have heard the B+M Ixon IQ so would take a look at that. I can't remember why I didn't get one, maybe I 'd already bought the Hope 1.
The Hope lights up the road impressively well when you've been used to more basic and to be see not be seen lights like me. On it's highest setting it makes the tarmac look white. In a hurry I thought it wasn't secure the first time I used it and when re-attaching after going to an appointment broke the bracket - the plastic snapped in half. More careful people (it's not unusual for me to do things like that) may never ever do that. Though it was quickly and easily replaced after an email to Hope.
