Some excellent replies here thanks all. I think the main points that really resonate are the lack of exercise and endorphins and all that just getting me down. Went out today and although it was steady and thrashing it down it felt great! And also the need to plan and make time for exercise while away. It's so easy to just head to the bar/restaurant straight after a long day, why not hit the gym for 30 minutes?!

Cheers

I am very much in the same boat @Buzzinonbikes - I do also travel a lot, I do pick the hotels that have a gym and / or a pool.

Same problem here - I get nice and fit then go off for a two-week overseas busines trip. I dislike running and in any case you wouldn't run around the places I go to, hotel gyms are SO boring and the exercise bikes uncomfortable, so I usually vegetate and try to get back on the bike as soon as possible on my return. Actually two weeks of rest and good food seems to benefit me and I feel stronger though the cardio fitness does drop a little.
