Careful folks. This procedure clearly also impairs ones ability to count7 or 8 pints
This is a close approximation of my vision of hell. Give me hours of solitude in a private room any dayI was on a ward, where there is almost never a dull moment with people coming and going, and various minor flaps.
I was also grateful to exchange a few words with fellow patients and the nurses.
Indeed! This is a close approximation of my vision of hell. Give me hours of solitude in a private room any day
Indeed!
The old guy next to me had very painful legs so he used to sleep in the chair between our beds. Every night I would hear him peeing into a bottle, and every morning I'd wake up to find that he had fallen asleep and spilt his pee all over the floor!
The man directly opposite me was very brave. He told me that he was dying of his brain tumour, but he had not told his family the truth. I got really upset a few hours later when his wife, children and grandchildren were gathered round him and I could hear them talking about the holidays they would take together once he was better. I was struggling to remain composed. So bloody sad ...
The man diagonally opposite was trolleyed in in the middle of the night in a diabetic coma. The nurses worked on him for hours and it was almost impossible to sleep with lights going on and off, and people coming and going. Then they stuck him on a nebuliser which made a disturbing noise.
There were alarms going off every 10 minutes or so.
Give me a private room, my Galaxy Tablet and an internet connection any day!

I spend 145-160 hours of a typical week in the solitude of an otherwise empty room so I am well-used to it!No one is a bigger snob than me, but I would still take all the fun and games over the privacy - read solitude - of an empty room, even if it did have internet access.
you should get out more thenI spend 145-160 hours of a typical week in the solitude of an otherwise empty room so I am well-used to it!
I would rather choose who I spend time with than have others imposed upon me. Admittedly, that choice was low on my list of priorities when the grim reaper came knocking ...
Give me a few hours sunshine a day, 15+ degrees C, and low wind speeds, and I will try to get out and ride 150+ miles a week.you should get out more then
Can't be healthy spending that much time indoors and aloneGive me a few hours sunshine a day, 15+ degrees C, and low wind speeds, and I will try to get out and ride 150+ miles a week.
Deal?
It’ll depend on the hospital (and now Covid).Quite old thread resurrection time.
I saw a doctor on Friday about my hip/leg, pain/immobility/balance problem. He said I'll probably need a hip replacement. He sent me to have an x-ray at 'Accy Vic' hospital. I was in and out in 25 minutes. My question is after having such a quick service so far. How long will it be before I get to see someone to talk about having it done and how long before it's done...if it's needed that is? 🤔
