Don't forget, some of these route mapping things are a little inaccurate sometimes - just worry when you see road signs that say 20% / or 1 in 5 or steeper...then panic......

it is a cracking area... i feel very lucky to live round these parts.
we also have the new forest which is within easy reach which is also great for rides ( i did 50 mile charity around ride there this weekend..)

Blimey, 50 mile is a good run, that's a target for me next year. I think I've only ever skirted around the new Forest in the car so never really seen it.

I've been holidaying down there on and off since I was a kid and always liked it, especially the Isle Of Purbeck, Corfe etc and Swanage is my favourite seaside town. Used to go camping regularly at Burnbake camp site, but it's even more popular now than it used to be. How did you find the ride around there? I'm guessing the tightest part was from Studland up to Corfe.

Thats it, I'm jealous now, we've got some nice countryside up here but no sea side:smile: I'm off to tell the Mrs we're not going abroad next year, time to research bike carriers.

Out of curiosity, do they charge to take bikes on the ferry?

we have an evening run that goes over on the ferry to a lovely pub up in studland ( the banks arms) we stop off there for a couple of pints, they have their own micro brewery and serve a great pint..we sit out in the garden that has views over the coast line. its a really great spot. then back over on the ferry .
its about a 25 mile round trip and the fery is only £1.60 return with the bikes.

i dont think i would move to anywhere else in the uk. i you ever get a chance you should come down and see for yourself

I know the Banks's Arms - been there a couple of time whilst on holiday, that garden has a cracking view. I think Studland beach is for me one of the best in the country.
