Yesterday whilst doing a small training run I experienced something I have never had before my .....
willy went quite numb for a while:whistle: I put it down to sitting too far back on the saddle so moved up a bit but it stayed the same, in the end I stood up for a while and it went away (the numbness) but it did cause concern, could this be the road to a new better fitting saddle as the saddle is the one the bike came with or could this be the start of some other problem.

Finding saddle Nirvana is a long road.

Check your set up, likely cause is the nose of the saddle being too high, try setting the saddle level with a spirit level.

It's happening to me on my Triban 3, never happened before on any other bike, must be the seat. It takes maybe an hour and it's completely numb, once I've stopped riding and the feeling slowly comes back, it's curiously enjoyable. Most of my rides are over an hour now...........

Certainly saddle.

Cheap solution maybe try a Charge Spoon (not the knife as they fall to bits). Less padding = good ! Flatter profile (side to side) = good (more support for sit bones)

As it has not happened before it is likely a combination of saddle/bike setup. Having gone through this problem myself and googling it-there are mumerous helpful articles written on the subject.
What I did was.......
1. Change the saddle (not easy as you cant really try them all out before you buy)
2. Raise/lower the saddle height.
3. get the saddle far enough back (not too far)
4. Make sure the saddle is level. If it's already level try leaning it back (so the front is higher) by 5%.
