We train barefoot in karate. I went for a lunge punch and my toe went under my foot and pretty much stayed there. Was quite painful lol.

Sounds like when I broke my big toe, without the karate. Coming down stairs in socks, missed bottom step, landed on top of toe, ouch.

So, your injury risk is karate not cycling, you continue to do karate, so time to get out on the bike, nice and safe in comparison ;)

@Schmilliemoo OK - so you hurt yourself doing combat training in a combat sport.

So you've been advised to get on your bike to help with you getting better in combat.

And you won't.

Even though your specialist suggests it and your boyfriend would be delighted (if you're unsure of this - ask him - but I'm convinced he would be).

Last thing I checked we didn't do combat on a bike. It's pedal, pedal, pedal some more with toes straight in nicely protected shoes.

So you've wimped out. Lost by a submission without even trying.

Just suggesting ... *

* Note, I'm only suggesting this because I'm on the other side of the Pennines and can run faster ^_^ . Pedal faster too. I might not be so bold if you were 3 feet away. Any idea I ride near Stockport is pure imagination
