I had a stuck seatpost on my Sunbeam, they finished the seat post with a domed top, presumedly to prevent crap from going down the seatpost to the bottom bracket.
It was rusted in, so i poured a bit of thinners down the tube and let it weep through, the the rust was wet enough to release once some movement started, a bit of wiggling and it was out, probably the first time in over 70 years..

I only heard about TOC from a Google search, but they are quite local so it seems worth taking a punt. They are quite a bit more expensive than other places I looked at, about £95 to strip and powder coat the frame and fork, but it will save me the faff of stripping it and I would hope they will mask off the threads properly. From the website they also do spraying and frame builds/repairs so I would hope they know their onions. I will let you how I get on.

Just out of interest, how was your experience with TOC of Coventry?

Hi,

The project is on hold at the moment, too many other commitments. I'm planning to take the frame to TOC in early November. I'll let you know how I get on
