I assume you're taking the piss. However, that's pretty good going on a mountain bike, irrespective of your Mo Farah like running times.

Plus I don't get what you think of as fat as I am not exactly fat man uk 2015...... Considering I was a very skinny runner all my life until my thirties the layer of fat I've got know is getting a bit over the top for me know! What I consider fat you might not.....

Distance, speed, and interval training all have their analogues on the bike, so you should be able to get a fair way with your running background using these concepts (I don't do any of them though, just enjoy the ride at whatever pace I go at ;)). Just put the miles in, enjoy your riding, and you'll see improvement, no need for a tailor-made training plan unless you're wanting to compete with other riders IMHO. 15+mph is already plenty fast enough to tackle longer 50+ mile rides.

I think I quoted the fat word from your original post :smile: I'm more commenting on the fact you said 'beginner' than 'fat'

And you're asking for training when you clearly know that is a good time for a 30 miler. Hence my comments.

That's lovely, but most people would get around that time for 5k.
Sorry that most people are not like me. I have to say that I was probably fairly gifted as an athlete when I was younger and should have really found myself a proper coach rather than rely on myself. Didn't really get great times as a younger lad from 15-18 but after then I was 19 or 20ish I started to pass a lot of lads. Guess I was a late developer. If only I could go back to then with the thing I now know..........

Asking for training as I have no idea how to train at cycling..........
