). Just put the miles in, enjoy your riding, and you'll see improvement, no need for a tailor-made training plan unless you're wanting to compete with other riders IMHO. 15+mph is already plenty fast enough to tackle longer 50+ mile rides.Mo farad pb 26 mins 56 secs......I assume you're taking the mickey. However, that's pretty good going on a mountain bike, irrespective of your Mo Farah like running times.

And he probably did it with a pair of wellies onEven so, a sub 30min 10K is still a race winning time.

I'm more commenting on the fact you said 'beginner' than 'fat' That's lovely, but most people would get around that time for 5k.Mo farad pb 26 mins 56 secs......
Yea with the correct guidance I may have made it but didn't think I could at the time as once I'd peaked at sub 30 at 24 years old I believed it was too late for me so gave up. Plus quitted once my firtt child was on the way!Even so, a sub 30min 10K is still a race winning time.

Sorry that most people are not like me. I have to say that I was probably fairly gifted as an athlete when I was younger and should have really found myself a proper coach rather than rely on myself. Didn't really get great times as a younger lad from 15-18 but after then I was 19 or 20ish I started to pass a lot of lads. Guess I was a late developer. If only I could go back to then with the thing I now know..........That's lovely, but most people would get around that time for 5k.
Asking for training as I have no idea how to train at cycling..........I think I quoted the fat word from your original postI'm more commenting on the fact you said 'beginner' than 'fat'
And you're asking for training when you clearly know that is a good time for a 30 miler. Hence my comments.
