I'm after a commuter - any recommendations?

I'm getting rid of my Boardman (I ain't forgot about you Tel) as I don't want drop bars.

I like my cheapy mountain bike with road tyres as i like the:

Wider wheels
Robust build
Riding position
Feel less vunerable

Budget around £700 - Maybe a little more

I maybe adding panniers and like to add full mudguards.

Worth looking at the Specialized Tri Cross Sport. I have one on order.Try to get one through the cycle to work scheme. Its a cyclocross bike that will tour, commute etc with eyelets for mudgaurds and rack. The geometry is very comfortable and the supplied tyres soak up a lot of road chatter.
