Here goes with my first post !
Got a nice shiny new bike off my wife for Christmas (Specialized Tricross) . First time out I swapped my bottle cage off my old mountain bike. On returning from the ride I tried to swap the cage back to my old bike only to find that the bolt was cross threaded. I managed to get it out but the the thread in the Rivnut it knackered. Stupidly I figured that possibly a different nut would would cut a new thread .............wrong ! I now have a second nut stuck in the Rivnut and my attempts to force it in or out has resulted in the Rivnut starting to spin freely in the frame. I realise that I can possibly drill the nut out and maybe push the Rivnut into the frame but I am really nervous about doing it myself as the bike is still so nice and shiny !! Tried a LBS who weren't interested as I hadn't purchased the bike off them. Any ideas or any suggestions as to who could repair in the Liverpool area gratefully received.
