Now they're all spiral flourescent ones, because the power company pays to keep them cheap so we don't need another nuclear reactor, due to the energy savings over incandescents.

I use a Specialized Evade which is a racing helmet, but has the attributes of the "Rounder Smoother Safer " design

My "Spare" is a Giro Aspect - again a smoothe rounded design

The Evade is one of the more jagged aero road helmets...

Besides which it is one of the few to hold a Snell certification

I am not going to harp on about the safety aspects of the protrusions at the back, since I wouldn't have even considered it during a purchasing decision and I have no facts on the matter, also, I race in a proper pointy helmet (and one of the longer, most exaggerated modern pointy helmets at that) regularly. I just found it interesting that you referred to it being a "rounder" design, which with the (3?) big pointy protrusions at the back I wouldn't have considered it as a rounder helmet, smoother and less vented however, it is certainly.
