Last week was our first one and we all enjoyed it. It is our hope to make it a regular thing, the next one is penciled in for 29th September.
Keep an eye on this thread

Excellent. Would there be any desire for a new starting point? I've no real issues with the Montem ice rink, we've shown that it's pretty easy to find, it's central for us and the roads are quiet enough at that time, but i reckon there might be better places around. Thoughts?

Keep it at the ice rink for now. Don't mind anywhere is that vicinity tbh.
My neighbour Andy has today bought a Halfords Carrera tdf. Nicw bike. He might not be ready for the next CCSR (cycle chat slough riders)
outing, but i'll have him ready soon

Half way down for me. :giggle:

My son has a Carrera TdF, D1, it looks a nice ride but he hasn't let me near it yet.:bicycle:

Reading this is like a walk down memory lane!! I was dragged up in Windsor, went to the boys school. Still got family up there in Eton Wick and go up for a visit when we can. Used to ride as a kid out on the drift road to the Cider House or out to the Copper Horse, although you weren't supposed to ride on the long walk. And I do remember Priest Hill.

Next time I'm up I'll chuck the bike in and join you if you're going out.

I used to work in the Cider House in the early to mid 80s, just before it got ripped down and two 'executive homes' were built. We nearly came past that way but the Ascot Road was busy so we came over Winkfield Plain to the other end of the Drift Road.

Just tell him in the intrests of his own safety and well being your willing to cast your experienced eye over his bike at no charge obviously this involves a test ride of some length

Wasnt the Cider House a motorbike ish pub or am i miss informed ?
Indeed. Although there is much discussion about the details, the "Windsor Chapter" was one of the first recognised by the original HA's in Oakland (as they were by then). I think that the chapter house was on the Maidenhead Road, near what is now Wells Close, but they did spend a lot of time at the Cider House.
