Thanks all for the replies, much appreciated. (including @sanddancer and @Widge , who didn't know where I'm based, so fair enough)

The Oxygen, Mavic and Solo jerseys look ideal. I'm less than enthused about the lack of full zipper on the Ground Effect one, though. On the other hand, I've been using Ground Effect lycra pants for years and they're top-quality, so it's quite likely their jerseys are of a similar standard.

I prefer more layering ability

For this reason I use a Paramo (Parameta) base layer (or two) topped with a a cheap Craghoppers fleece and or a wind proof/ waterproof

Allows for a wide change in weather and it's convenient and small to pack
