You won't be able to answer this without spoilers, but I am struggling to think of a word that fits your no 4 guess.

There is a fairly logical sounding possibility that is allowed in scrabble....but which I had never heard of before.

I've just put it into a crossword solver and a word has come up with a definition, though it's a new one on me.

Got it!!! I can go to bed early and have a lay in!

New word for me. Never come across it before.
It was 'courd'. It was just a pure guess as I got a bit stuck and thought it must be an 'our' sound. Anyway, it looks like it's an acceptable word in some, but not all games of scrabble, appearing in the Collins dictionary but not the tournament dictionary. Apparently it's an archaic version of 'covered'.

Also, to my surprise and delight, it turns out that 'minge' is a playable word...

Bugger...given 2 possible answers I always seem to go for the wrong-un.

Maybe I should take my time. I see Paul is pleased if he takes less than 5 minutes. I usually rattle my guesses in within under a minute apart from the morning I had a mental block. Probably why I forgot to use an orange letter in my third go and ended up taking 4.

Interesting as I have to consider the potential letter combinations I have left before making my next move.

With my results from lines #1 and #2 I knew there were only two possible letter combinations for spaces 4 and 5. I had to think that through carefully before jumping to my #3 line correctly.
