I knew I'd been going wrong somewhere!

Unsurprisingly I did not know the word QAJAQ, but also several of the top first-guess words are unknown to me, including SALET and REAST. When playing Scrabble (which, admittedly, I don't do much these days), we used to have a rule that you could challenge a word and if the player who had played it couldn't give a satisfactory definition, they'd have to withdraw it. Doesn't matter so much with a solo game, I guess, and I suppose some people take a more mathematical pleasure in it than I do...

I knew I'd been going wrong somewhere!

It's also interesting how differently people consider success in the game. Personally I don't aim for a minimum number of guesses, if I get it in the allotted six then I've completed it and that's that. I also barely think about my opening word, I just use either the first or the sweariest (because I'm a forty-four year old child) five letter word that pops into my head. Thinking too hard about strategy would take away the fun for me, I like the simplicity.
