I quite enjoy Quordle, but I find it too opaque in terms of sharing - I mean, you could study the patterns closely, but that way madness lies. Other people's journeys through the puzzle don't have the same legibility as they do in Wordle. Anyway after some fairly hamfisted early attempts, I now do the opposite of what you describe and try and get the easy wins out of the way - at some point you've got to 'waste' a go on the answer anyway. But I wouldn't take my advice anyway - I've never done it in less than eight, and usually use all nine.

that's my approach too claud. reasoning is that last letter may well appear is another grid, so as you have to "play" it sometime, you might as well have the knowledge of whether the 5th letter is in or out of other grids sooner rather than later. the only reason you wouldn't is if there are 2 or 3 choices of 5th letter, and then you might want to incorporate some / all of those choices into a guess on another grid and thus give you a definite answer to use later.

Even if you are just rearranging yellow letters to solve it - do it as it might also reveal say a repeated letter (two greens in different places) in another grid.

I think the best aspect of Wordle is that it is strictly daily. Without the rationing I'd probably have played it 3 times, thought it a nice game and forgotten about it.

I've not really been tempted by any of the A.N.Otherdles

I mentioned a while ago that my 3's were catching the 4's. Since then, nothing better than a 4. And a 6 today 😅.

My 4s have a ridiculous lead. The 3s and 5s are roughly neck and neck but way behind. 6s are there, just. 1s and 2s have not troubled the scorer.

I'm not really bothered whether it's a 4 or 5 for example. But I'm not enjoying those 6s. Only once was I on my 6th go with more than one potential correct answer. Guessed right, luckily. People have better distributions than me, but the Streak lives on
