Anyone planning a one way ride tomorrow in an east or north east direction will reach their destination pretty swiftly. I'm currently in north west Norfolk near Wells, and hoping to ride back to Newmarket on Monday. Ive told my wife I may be some time.

Hmm. Stava KOM

Barnet,
The wind is picking up down here now, just got back from walking the dog. It is a nice bright evening though, no sign of the rain clouds yet.

I'm torn about riding tomorrow.

On one hand the storm shouldn't reach us in south Germany until Monday, and the highest winds on Sunday are 21-43km/h (4-6 Bft) until late evening, by which time I should have been back for hours.

On the other hand, I'd be riding in exposed places if it comes early.

Mind you, I'm a bit apprehensive about Monday anyway as we live in an attic apartment.

Forecast to slowly pick up tomorrow as the day moves on. Meant to be force 12 at its peak here. Over 120km winds. Not too sure if I can make it to work on Monday if it does hit that bad. Often the trains are cancelled due to trees toppling onto the tracks.

I live on the west coast of Wirral in a fairly exposed area, we get hammered by Atlantic storms often here, it's one of the few downsides of the location. I do think this storm is going to be quite bad, I've lived here for many years and know the neighbours well and we are all prepared as we can be. Example my neighbour has already removed all his garden fence panels and put them in his garage, I've only seen him do that once before about 10 years ago.
If you ride a bike in it, you're an idiot. There's plenty of other days for a bike ride.
I may have asked you this before (at my age I can be forgiven) but which part of the west Wirral is exposed to the Atlantic? Or am I misunderstanding your comment?
We are planning to be in New Brighton Monday morning. 9.95 mtr high tide at 10.30 should be interesting.

Can't say I've done anything. The fence panels are really strong ones and have never 'blown out' - we replaced the panels over a year ago due to age (23 years old) with the same type. My daughter's basket ball post is lay across the trampoline, as I always lay it down in winter.

@Andy in Germany I see you are in Esslingen.
Not had the priviledge of visiting there but spent a week working in Stuttgart and also visited Strasbourgh a few times. Always for work so never got to know the area. Me and MrsD stayed just outside Strasbourg on the weekend of Bastille day. We had a lovely time and the white wine was amazing.

Obviously an Aubergine
WoW......very high tech.
My planning ahead was to ask MrsD to stay in the garden and hang on to the fence panels.
I hope this ice pack takes the swelling down soon

I prefer to think of it as a simple, yet elegant solution.

Two vine eyes screwed into the doorframe upright. Double layer polythene sandwiched between two battens, and attached by same at top of frame.

Third vine eye dropped through the batten and the two rings, to secure.

Mrs D sounds like an energetic, no nonsense sort - jolly good :okay:
