What's really crazy is expecting to have out of season stuff all year round, expecting to pay the same all year round. Then folk getting in a flap when it's not. All the while glossing over the fact that many people can't even afford to eat let alone buy a cucumber.

when anything is in "short supply" its normally the big stores that get wiped out first. Buy small^, buy local, they generally have a more sustainable and robust supply chain anyway.Our local greengrocer has just published a photo showing an abundance of fresh produce on their shelves.

Let me clarify.....when I said "crazy" I refer to the panic buying which causes those empty shelves.
Can't wade through thread, but Justin King (ex JS & now M&S) explained it's to stop wholesalers swooping and buying it all up in the early morning.
I fear this salad rationing will be just the tip of the iceberg.
